Sun shone on an empty tomb where the flowers bloom in Lady Lazarus' hands They said we're good as dead but I can never understand why they should talk that way I see but I don't believe I cry but I don't grieve and all the walls just seem to breathe out sound and life in five minutes they were so full of light In the gloom of the pub there with the gun placed to your head bang bang you spread your brains all over the front page And the scene closed and the dust rose and you said nobody knows the places you and I can go but we get away I see but I don't believe I cry but I don't grieve and all the walls just seem to breathe out sound and life in five minutes they were so full of light

We Pass By 02:54
We go out on a Friday night we get wired on a Saturday night with those bright young things of tomorrow And if you needed a place to hide need someone to confide in love I'm by your side Through the rising damp and holes in the wall cat calls in the deepest dakr bring you down and up again in the morning To the sound of sirens and the metal machines running wild on the empty streets of the town the mangled wasteland beguiles As arm in arm we pass by A fighting man swings by the burger vans as we flash past and we drink our toast to the last dregs of a feeling And if you needed a place to hide need someone to confide in love I'm by your side As arm in arm we pass by

I fell asleep dreamed of World War Three nightmare followed me through danger signs headlines were beating the drums but I don't want to die under a toxic sky no matter how I try can't get it out my mind In the land where the blind and insane are the kings following's much easier than thinking at least that's how it seemed to me I fell asleep thinking if you had stayed we might have made things better we could have changed it's just a thought but these things pass just like the dying season slow inevitable with no real reason But what did they say there's a place where streets are paved with gold and dreams grow on trees or so I'm told but I never think about that no I wouldn't know about that
